Trapped In A Dark Tower II
Awaken by strange voices of creatures, I opened my eyes and saw him staring down at me. "Are you alright?" He whispered to me softly. The dim light from the small flame torch could hardly show me his face which was half covered by the dark shadows. "Where am I...?" I looked around anxiously, not knowing anything about the outside world, for this is my first time outside the chamber where I was sealed for about a few hundred years. He was the one who released me, the mysterious man with me right now. "We have to go, I will set you free from here."
The voices of those beasts grew louder, he held my hand and dashed towards the bricked stairs. From the dim light I could see his long golden hair swayed from side to side with his movements. He was tall and well-build, and wore a black coat that made him seem even more secretive.
The deep low voices from those 'things' sounded as if they were moans of human beings. Out of curiosity, I turned head head and stole a glance of those monsters from the corner of my eye. I was horrified and stunned, for they were like human corpses dragging their bodies painfully towards us. They had purplish red decaying flesh, and some just lost their body parts. Others was so terrifying that they had their organs hanging out from their bodies, and all of them left trails of blood behind.
My hands began to tremble as I hasten my feet to get away from them quickly. He knew that I was scared as he felt my hand throb, and again, with his calm voice he told me to be strong. For the first time, I saw something that made me feel rather peaceful inside. It was his delicate smile.
We ended up at the top of the long ancient staircase, and stumbled upon a huge door with ancient letters embedded on it. He tried to force it open, but it just wouldn't budge. "They are coming! Hurry!" I screamed as the horde of zombies came closer to us. "Step aside, I'm going to release my sword." He grabbed the handle firmly and pulled out the blade from its sheath. The sword he had was completely different from mine, the sharp silver blade that glowed bright red at its edges and summoned a force of wild, uncontrollable energy.
The crimson glow then turned into flames that were almost as bright as the sun. He held up the blade and slashed the large door with an incredible strength, the flames became gigantic and devoured the door in an instant. The force of the powerful blow caused the zombies behind us to disintegrate into ashes immediately. The great door broke into an even half and collapsed with the raging flame.
The fire of the blade disappeared as he slide his sword into the sheath smoothly. He turned to me as I stared at him in awe, wondering where did he get that sort of power. Suddenly there was a flash back played in my mind, as if it was a memory from a long time ago. I was stunned for a while but his voice brought me back to reality. "We need to hurry, there are more of those things from where they came from." He grabbed my hand once again and made another run through the long corridor.
